Penelope Cruz’s sister pregnant by sperm donor

PENELOPE Cruz’s 35-year-old single sister, Monica, has revealed she is pregnant by artificial insemination.

The stunning sister of Spanish film star, Penelope,  made the shock announcement last week on her online blog for Spanish newspaper, El Pais.

The Spanish beauty said she went ahead with the procedure because she feared she would not meet a man in time to conceive naturally.

The Agent Provocateur model said: “I am going to be a mother! I have managed to fulfil the dream of a lifetime.

“Because of that I want to share with all of you this special journey and to be able to tell you about all my experiences during this fascinating time.”

Wanting to quash growing speculation, the Cruz sibling said: “I have decided to tell all. To become pregnant, I turned to artificial insemination.

“I want to tell, also, so I can have the opportunity to show my thanks to all those anonymous men that help to give many women like me, the dream of their lives.”

She said she hoped her revelation would help to make the issue of single women becoming pregnant on their own through artificial insemination less of a taboo.

“If with this I can help others who have doubts, then here you have me if you need me.”

Monica has been linked to a string of attractive men, including most recently actor boyfriend, Alex Gonzalez, but has been single for more than a year.

Monica rose to fame in the early 2000 as a star of TV show Un Paso Adelante and has worked alongside her sister Penelope on a line for Mango.
