Police officer down in Mercadona supermarket shoot out

THREE men with guns burst into a Mercadona in Yunco on Saturday night.

The first police officer who arrived on the scene was greeted with a bullet to the neck.

He was taken to Virgen de la Salud hospital in Toledo city, where he remains in intensive care.

The three men, two dressed in camouflage combat clothing and another in blue trousers and a grey striped jumper, fled the scene in a Seat Cordoba and were last seen heading in the direction of Madrid.
