SPANISH Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has said he wants Britain IN Europe.

Rajoy pledged his support for the Remain campaign as David Cameron flies to Gibraltar for a Brexit rally organised by the ‘Gibraltar Stronger In Europe’ campaign.

Taking to Twitter, Rajoy said: ‘Brexit would be a step back for Europe, we want the UK to stay in Europe and keep strengthening the EU.’

Meanwhile, Cameron is set to appear at a rally in Casemates Square from 5pm this afternoon.

Chief Minister of Gibraltar has urged Gibraltarians to join in the rally to give Cameron ‘a proper Gibraltarian welcome’.

The last reigning Prime Minister to visit Gibraltar was Harold Wilson, 47 years ago.
