THE identities of the family of four found dead in a flat in Gibraltar have been released by police.

The adults were identified as 31-year old British national John Joseph Shannon, born in Liverpool, and his 37-year old Spanish partner of Cuban descent, Anarda De La Caridad Perez Friman.

Friman was a mother to four children, two of whom also lost their lives in the tragic incident.

The two children were identified as six week old baby named as Eve Shannon Perez, Shannon’s daughter, and four-year old Amanda Kristoffersen Perez, both of Spanish nationality.

The four-year-old was the daughter of a Danish national residing in Fuengirola, named by police as Rene Kristoffersen.

The two other siblings were never in Gibraltar and are currently in the care of their father.

Police said the delay in releasing the identities of the deceased was due to the extended nature of the family unit.

“It was important that all family members were informed appropriately of the untimely deaths before a press statement was made,” the Royal Gibraltar Police said in a statement.

Police also confirmed that the family had been residing in Estepona before arriving in Gibraltar on March 25 and were thought to be travelling to the UK.
