SPAIN’S first heat wave of the year could spread across Andalucia this week with highs of 40C.
National meteorology service, AEMET has issued a warning stating that boiling temperatures are expected to start on Wednesday and last until at least Sunday.
And make sure to keep air conditioning on at night as lows are expected to to stay at 20C and above.
AEMET tweeted a diagram of scorching temperatures expected for the week.

“The diagrams show it is very possible that a heat wave could start from Wednesday or Thursday. Other than the maximum temperatures, we are also keeping an eye on the minimum temperatures which will also be very high,” reads the Tweet.
The sudden spike in temperatures comes as a blast of hot wind is set to sweep in from Africa.
Andalucia will be one of the regions most affected by the heat, along with the Balearic Islands, Castilla La Mancha, Extremadura and Madrid.
