Alert for rain and storms upgraded to ORANGE on Spain’s Costa del Sol as San Pedro hit by flooding

rain

WEATHER agency AEMET has placed the Costa del Sol and Guadalhorce valley on orange alert for heavy rainfall and winds.

Both areas could see 30 litres fall in just one hour as showers are expected to continue until midnight.

Ronda, Axarquia and Antequera are still on the yellow alert issued yesterday.

It comes as San Pedro de Alcantara, next to Marbella, was hit by flash floods this morning.

It is not clear if the drains bursting, the rainfall or both are behind the deluge.
