British fugitive ‘warehouse robber’ arrested at Spain’s Alicante Airport after trying to evade customs officers

HELD: A suspected British warehouse robber was arrested at Alicante Airport as part of an international operation involving multiple forces

MASTER criminals from across the world, including a British man, have been arrested in a huge international operation.

Joint investigations between Interpol, the Policia Nacional and other forces led police to detain a 43 year-old British man.

The suspected serial warehouse robber was apprehended at Customs in Alicante Airport as he tried to enter Spain.

Officers arrested the fugitive after noting he had a European Detention and Extradition Order.

A Lithuanian man wanted for ‘crimes against the person’ was also held as he tried to leave via the same airport.

An alleged drug smuggler from Peru was arrested in Alicante itself and could face 25 years in prison.

In Elche, another joint operation resulted in an Algerian fraudster being arrested, after being on the run from French authorities since 2017.

All four arrests happened in the last 10 days in a crackdown on international crime.
