New Covid 19 Case Numbers Fail To Slow Down As Two Outbreaks Are Reported In Resort On Spain S Costa Blanca

LATEST COVID-19 case figures show little sign of decline in the Valencian Community, with two new outbreaks reported on the Marina Alta in Denia.

The Regional Health Ministry said that 672 new positive cases of coronavirus infection were recorded up to Tuesday(September 8), a 24-hour rise of 170 cases.

There is little apparent sign that the upward trend of new infections has been pulled back by extra restrictions introduced in mid-August that have been extended until the end of the month.

Valencia Province reported 387 new cases yesterday, while Alicante Province, including the Costa Blanca, had 214 new cases.

Health officials also confirmed 33 new outbreaks in the Valencian Community with 10 cases in Alicante City and eight in Denia, which also logged an additional four-person outbreak.

Elche has reported two outbreaks involving nine infections and neighbouring Santa Pola has an outbreak with four people.
