Second-biggest day of pandemic for COVID-19 cases across Spain’s Valencian Community

THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY has reported the second-largest single day total of new COVID-19 cases in the region.

Wednesday night’s update(November 4)from the regional Health Ministry declared 1,804 new infections, with 596 of those in Alicante Province.

The figures said that 21 people had died, making it the biggest daily death toll during the second wave of the pandemic.

In Alicante Province, 11 people died in a day in, the largest number since mid-April.

456 people are in Alicante Province hospitals with COVID-19, of which 73 are in intensive care.

Eight new outbreaks have been detected in the area in Benidorm, Rafal, Almoradi, Torrevieja, Albatera, Denia, Elche, and Alcoy.

All but the cluster around Denia were caused by social gatherings.
