US airline JetBlue launches daily flights between Barcelona and Boston during summer season

A NEW daily summer route has been launched linking Barcelona with Boston to boost transatlantic travel options for Spain.

JetBlue began the seasonal service on April 16 and will run it until October 25.

The US airline is using its Airbus A321LR aircraft for the single daily flight in each direction.

Flights depart Boston in the evening at 8:04pm and arrive in Barcelona the following morning at 9:45am.

The return leg leaves the Catalunya capital in the early afternoon and lands back in the US the same day, making it an almost nine hour long flight.

Barcelona is the second Spanish destination for the carrier, after Madrid, as it continues a wider push into Europe.

Passengers can choose between the premium Mint cabin – featuring lie-flat seats – and the more affordable Core option.

Both cabins offer free Wi-Fi and onboard entertainment.

To celebrate the launch, the airline is offering limited introductory fares from €399 one-way.

The new route is expected to strengthen tourism and business links between Catalunya and the US.

It will also give travellers a direct and competitively priced option for summer getaways.
