• ON SHOW: Christ’s Head by Rutherford |
THERE is good news for Orgiva’s budding art scene.
A new gallery for the visual arts has opened in the town centre.
The Galeria del Marco will be showcasing local and international artists in its new location throughout 2012.
And already, over 50 works by Californian artist Jack Rutherford are on display.
“It’s good seeing Orgiva, which is somewhat the centre for the Alpujarras, now cultivating an image of an art centre and encouraging and channelling all the creative energy of both the locals and the talented people who live in this special area,” said Rutherford, who has developed the art school ‘Arts & Growth’ in Malaga province.
