EU RIGHTS: Bremain In Spain urges action

brexit departmentTHE MAJORITY of British businesses will not reduce their investment in Spain despite Brexit, according to a new poll.

A reassuring 64% of UK-based firms with Spanish interests are happy to keep the status quo, according to a study by Spanish company Analistas Financieros Internacionales (AFI).

However, 30% said they would reduce investments because of the vote.

A further eight per cent stated they would increase them, when questioned.

The UK is Spain’s third largest foreign investor and in 2014 created 160,000 jobs in the country while adding €6.1m to public coffers.

Businesses said they invested in Spain due to the favourable business climate, expertise and its links to South America.
