AN American tourist has said she will never forget Malaga after a local handed in her lost bag containing more than $6,000.

The unsung hero, 40, walked past the bag on the Paseo del Parque on November 19 with his family.

Noticing it contained copious IDs, visas, medical cards and $6,193 in cash, the yet unnamed man immediately handed it in to Policia Local.

They managed to track the woman down via the US embassy.

The woman, in her 50s, was ‘extremely grateful’ to the police, telling them that she would never forget her visit to Malaga, despite it being only 24 hours.

She also thanked them for all the steps they had taken to contact her and return her bag.

She verified that not a single item had been stolen.
