TWO Primark cosmetic products have had to be recalled in Spain after it was discovered they were contaminated ‘micro-biologically’.

According to the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS), the retail giant voluntarily removed the products after becoming aware of the contamination.

The products are the ‘PS Prep & Perfect Watermelon Primer Water’ and ‘PS Prep & Perfect Primer Water Charcoal’.

Both products were overloaded with a chemical that could cause irritation and infection on any kind of skin lesion.

They could also cause infection in the eyes.

Those with a weakened immune system are said to be significantly more at risk.

Both products had to be recalled after containing an illegal amount of aerobic mesophilic microorganisms.

AEMPS has warned anyone who bought the affected products between February 11 and August 30 of this year to return them immediately.

Primark has agreed to reimburse all customers.
