Family massacre in Andalucia as pregnant woman, her mother and teenage son are gunned down by ‘motorcycle hitmen’ in narco revenge attack

AT least three people have been killed in a popular Andalucia holiday resort after two masked men gunned down three generations of a family in the middle of the street.

A pregnant woman, her teenage son and the woman’s mother died after the hooded pair, who fled the scene on a motorbike, opened fire in the fishing town of Isla Cristina in Huelva, located near the Portuguese border on the Costa de la Luz.

The shocking incident took place at around 10pm on Sunday evening in the neighbourhood of El Rocio, according to Canal Sur, with distressing footage shared on social media showing three lifeless bodies lying outside a block of flats.

The victims were found lifeless in the street after a spate of gunfire from two masked men.

Police say two others were injured in the shooting, including one who was rushed to hospital ‘in a serious condition’.

No arrests have been made, but investigators believe the shooting could be linked to a previous narco-related incident in Huelva in September 2024, which left one dead and two injured.

According to reports, the three people killed on Sunday evening are the sister, mother and nephew of the man arrested over the shooting two years ago, known as ‘El Baba’.

The alleged perpetrator went on the run after the incident but was arrested days later in Gijon in northern Spain.

“The initial lines of investigation indicate that it could be a settling of scores between members of different clans, although no hypothesis has been ruled out,” the Guardia Civil said in a statement.

The spokesperson added that a secrecy order had been placed on the case by a judge, limiting the amount of information that can be released relating to the investigation.

Isla Cristina, located less than 10km from the border with Portugal, is one of Andalucia’s most important fishing towns, renowned for its catch from the nearby Atlantic Ocean.

The town is also a popular tourist resort in the summer, particularly for Spaniards, who flock to its idyllic beaches.
