| • Couple lost dozens of solar batteries and their generator in the raid on their home in Guajar Alto |
By Wendy Williams
A BRITISH couple have had 20,000 euros of tools and solar equipment stolen from their home.
Sarah Hermitage, 58, and Stewart Middleton, 62, – who were only recently forced to flee their farm in Tanzania after death threats – lost dozens of solar batteries and their generator in the raid on their home in Guajar Alto.
“This was a vicious burglary,” explained Hermitage. “It has been a nightmare.
“After we lost our farm in Africa, we built ourselves up again. Now they have taken all this and we are going to have to start again with no money.
“Without our generator and batteries we can’t even put the lights on,” she added.
