BRITISH tourists will have the pick of the sun loungers this summer as a record number of German tourists decide to holiday at home.
The Germans are second only to Britons when it comes to holidaying abroad, but the recession has made 50 per cent of them decide to take a break in their own country.
Meanwhile, a separate poll has also revealed that 45 per cent of Germans are ashamed of their fellow countrymen’s antics while abroad.
Of the 1,002 people surveyed, 67 per cent in particular were ashamed of their compatriots’ loutish behaviour when drunk.
