Fresh fish cuts cancer risk

EATING fresh fish could prevent colon cancer.

A new study has shown that eating it at least once a week reduced the risk of colon and rectal cancer by an average of 12 per cent.

Scientists in China found the risk reduction for rectal cancer was as much as 21 per cent, whereas the reduction for colon cancer was four per cent.

It follows previous research that shows countries with higher rates of fish consumption have lower levels of the cancer.
