SPANISH Formula One star Fernando Alonso has come in for criticism from a pressure group in Valencia, despite winning his home Grand Prix at the weekend.
In an open letter to the driver, Street Circuit No criticised him for failing to speak out over the plans to host the European Grand Prix in the city.
It claims the decision to invest €100 million in the street circuit was the result of ‘delusions of grandeur of the political authorities of this community’.

I agree with Street Circuit NO. City Officials are at least dilusional to consider spending 100 MM euros (which they don’t have!) on a circuit that is more dangerous to viewers, very noisy to residents, and will not attract more viewers than the circuit NOW at the Port. If the Officials want to throw away 100 MM euros, please contact me – I’ll send you my Bank Details!!
