  1. I can see Boland a a goatherder but it could only work if the goats do not expect any remuneration for their loyalty.
Then there is always the worry that a couple of the goats may have a few bob in which case it wouldnt be long before MB bleated them into parting with it in order to start….
RAM FM…”Have YEW herd it yet?…”
Blimey,I get the feeling that it could really happen as a “herd” of listeners would be a step up on the current figures I would guess!
    Keep smiling.

  2. Never forget this man loves being talked about. Egotist, Megalomaniac or both? An ex-presenter told me he apparently owes the hotel too so he could be out on his ear any time soon. Remember the history, not one business in nearly 20 years has been a success and lasted 2 years. He tagged himself the owner and Chairman of TRE but he was never anything of the kind. You have no choice but to question the morals and scruples of a man in debt and his motives for charity fundraising. I would never encourage anyone to support this man in business or charity

  3. If Maurice Boland objects to any of my comments I invite him here to also comment. As I have already stated, all my comments were previously reported widely in the press. If he wishes to correct any factual errors he is more than welcome to do so. I have a feeling he will not as he has no defence against widely known facts. Cathy

  4. You are absolutely spot on CJ.Boland has steadfastly refused to defend himself against any criticism in the mistaken belief that this will show him in a dignified light. That ploy was seen through a long time ago and now he dare not raise his head above the parapet as the facts will bury him.I stated a long time ago that MB does not have the talent to manage a radio station and only ever managed to get on radio in the first place because he persuaded a very rich guy to buy the airtime for him when the management wouldnt entertain him. That was Onda Cero International and I was there at the time.In fact I had to produce and teach him, a fact that he never likes to aknowledge.Mind you,it doesnt say a lot for me does it! His mismangement and not paying wages has led to an exodus of some excellent and very professional presenters (I do not neccecarily include myself!) and the station is left largely with willing souls who are prepared to broadcast for the experience and joy of it while MB can continue to masquerade as the media mogul he percieves himself to be.Yeah right.
    Keep smiling.

  5. It was very interesting to hear Maurice Boland on the radio this morning commenting on this thread. It’s very odd that he believes he can say whatever he wants on his own station, factual or not, yet he states he is going to insist to Olive Press they delete my comments. Seems like double standards and somewhat hypocritical to me. What happened to freedom of speech? Nothing stated is remotely libellous. But that’s his modus operandi, he just can’t accept or cope with the truth so just accuses everyone of libel, comes up with numerous conspiracy theories and tries whatever he can to silence anyone who dares tell that truth. Cathy

  6. To those of you criticising and making unpleasant comments about Maurice Boland, what is your problem?

Do you get enjoyment from maligning someone? Does it make you feel BIG?

It is nothing but online bullying and shame on all you detractors who no doubt have unblemished life histories and are the pillars of society.

  7. Maurice insisting my comment removed. Don’t blame the Olive Press but as I said ‘he just can’t accept or cope with the truth’. My deleted comment was however copied to another forum by someone else. The amendments theirs not mine.

  8. Sally, it is not about unpleasantness, criticism, bulling or maligning, it’s simply about telling the truth about someone who himself parades as a pillar of the community. If the facts are accepted then each and every individual can of course make up their own minds. If he has nothing to hide then why get the Olive Press to remove posts?

  9. Sally,if you want to know a little more about bullying and maligning then look no further than Boland himself or are you yet another sychophant who he has asked to stand up for him?Yes,I am acquainted with all his modus operandi as has he has managed to persuade me to do the same in the past.He can vent his fury on the air all he wishes as he has not got an audience these days and naturally he is very nervous of the Olive Press as he cannot bully them and I can promise you he has tried! I would be very surprised if he asked the OP to surpress my comments as I would happily hand over a stream of vitriolic emails from Boland himself, indeed I have shared extracts in the past on facebook. They say a lot about the Boland the coast seems to at last be waking up to.I suspect he has started to realise that and it would be interesting to know if he is planning another fundraiser? He has a talent for self publicity and that is absolutely it.I think the coast has had enough.

  10. None of this will make much sense as my post of JANUARY 12TH, 2013 10:54 has been removed. A version is on another forum for those that choose to search for it. Maurice Boland can continue to masquerade behind some false façade, but in the end, what goes around will certainly come around and the truth will out. It’s only a matter of time.

  11. That is an evasive answer.

You haven’t answered my question. What do you want Maurice to do? Really, what points are you trying to make? You obviously have it in for him.

The Fire Aid Concert whose link to the article in the Olive Press you so kindly posted, was no doubt set up with the best of intentions. It was not his fault that the money did not go directly to the victims as he originally thought. The Red Cross, who do an admirable job, are entitled to spend the money in the best way they see fit. So stop harping on blaming him.

Furthermore, there are many people in the media industry who do like to be in the spotlight. That is often the nature of their job. And then you have others on the sidelines trying to pull them down. It happens all the time.

I’ve noticed that whenever there is a derogatory article on Maurice in the Olive Press there is a small band of you gleefully adding your nasty 10 cents.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Honestly, haven’t you anything better to do with your time?

  12. CJ ….. what does CJ stand for anyway! …. must be for COMPLETE JACKASS … because that’s what you are ! Interesting to note that the majority of comments on Maurice Boland ( all nasty by the way ) are by YOU or by a Mr Barry Mitchell ….. coincidence ? no I dont think so … Grow up! this tirade of constant insults are sooo boring .

  13. I totally agreed with Barry & Cathy – CJ (before her post was removed) although Tomie copied and edited it before posting on this blog.
Cathy made some very valid points, italk is far too much music for a talk radio station, too few guests, too many repeats. And when I listened yesterday morning far too much time taken up with discussion or should I say ranting about this thread. The station tag line is something like ‘if it’s in the news today it will be on the Boland Show today’, but other than reading the newsfeeds off the internet I don’t see what’s current about it.
Maurice confirmed 2 presenters had left, but whatever happened to Matt, Jack, Sonny, Stephen, Barry, Sid, Richie, Fiona & Debbie?

  15. Barry, you are so right, especially ‘…the coast seems to at last be waking up…’ & ‘I think the coast has had enough’.
Sally, please read the tread about the Fire Aid Concert, as you will note that it WAS Maurice Boland’s fault that the money did not go where it was intended. He agreed with Red Cross where it was spent.
Lynne, CJ, stands for Cathy-Jane, why?
    Thanks Sam, I totally agree.
What do most of the coast want Maurice Boland to do, RETIRE.
Maurice Boland seeks to try and substantiate that everyone commenting here is one and the same person; I can tell you I am my own person, an individual and not anyone else. He is so full of conspiracy theories he neglects to address the issues and facts.
I appreciate your open invitation Mr Boland, but not in a million years would I ever involve myself in anything you do, especially anything for charity. I assume you have still not published the accounts for your last charity event.
NB Not sure why some posts are duplicated, could be to do with them awaiting authorisation.
    Cathy

  16. No Barry, I’m not a sychophant and Maurice Boland did not ask me to write on his behalf!! I happened to be attracted by the goat picture on the front page of Olive Press, noted the comments at the bottom of the article and was so incensed, I felt I had to respond. I would have done so for anybody who I felt was being unfairly targeted.

In actual fact, I rarely read the local Costa newspapers but someone had mentioned the goat article which, from what I could see, was meant to be humorous. In fact, although it was a list of New Year predictions for many, the comments only seemed to be directed at one person.

Why can’t everybody live happily in this beautiful resort? Whatever you or others may think, in the end Boland is no doubt only trying to make a living. Who are you to judge him or anyone else for that matter?

Anyway, it all seems very petty to me. There are real issues along the Coast and worldwide to concern yourself with – why not worry about those and not what Boland is getting up to? Unless this is a personal vendetta.

    Chill!!

  17. Sally, with respect I believe you have missed the point. Maurice Boland puts himself out there as a pillar of the community, but he is not. He professes to have the No.1 radio station, but he does not. Most importantly there are many unanswered questions regarding his years of charity fundraising. Whether there is any impropriety or not, he fails to ever produce accounts for charity events when requested. His behaviour is in complete conflict with those who want to improve the reputation of Marbella and the region but most significantly he is blackening the good name of charity fundraising on the Costa del Sol for everyone. This is an important issue for everyone who lives here and the truth must be exposed, one way or another. No personal vendetta, there are just too many people asking the same questions now.

There seems several duplicate posts now, not sure what’s going on with that.

    Cathy

  18. After reading some of the offensive posts and reaching the ‘young goat’ comment. I decided I could stomach no more. I am a reader of the Olive Press and for this reason; I too have the right to comment and free to express my opinions. If this is not the case, where is our democratic rights (I state the latter because, if anyone appears to not be the side of the Maurice detractors, the abuse is then also directed at them) I am not going to get involved in the kindergarten games, though I am surprised how aggressive and vindictive some of the pupils are. Having had an involvement in the fire aid concert, I would like to suggest to all the aggressors, that if they really only want to get to the truth about Maurice’s charity dealings and wish to know where the money was allocated. They can apply directly to the charities in question, such as Cudeca and the Red Cross. The kind of comments that are being published imply of some kind of nasty vendetta. People (most who will not declare their true names) attacking one man with the printed word. Has anyone not had the guts to speak to him face to face? Come on expats, what is the real problem here?

  20. Barry, Cathy, Sam, I could not have put it better myself. Everything has been said. Unfortunate I did not get to read your post before it was deleted Cathy. Whether as individuals or as a group in support of this or any other media organisation, pursuit of the truth must endure in spite of Boland’s beleaguered and coerced supporters and his own fixation with conspiracy theories and not that truth.

  21. Myra, you state ‘I too have the right to comment and free to express my opinions’; fair enough, then ask Maurice Boland to get my post reinstated rather his attempts at gagging free speech. Neither I nor anyone else has said anything remotely aggressive, vindictive or offensive; it’s merely statements of the truth that Maurice Boland wishes by any means possible to avoid and deny. But rather than addressing those statements personally he gets other’s including you to defend him with nonsense adjectives with no substance. He won’t come here and address those issues for one very simple reason; he knows what everyone has said is the truth, but instead continues with outlandish conspiracy theories. The truth WILL out.

  22. Look, before you all join CJ on the usual attack tactics. Let us sort this out face to face. When are you lovely crowd having a party. I have an unused devils costume in the cupboard. Don’t want to clash so could you ALL please dress up.

  23. Grrrr back to defend myself!

Maurice Boland certainly did NOT get me to write on his behalf. I doubt very much if he asked Myra either.

I have not been in contact with Maurice Boland over this in any way, shape or form but hope he is reading the posts to see that he actually does have supporters.

May I ask on whose behalf are YOU detractors writing then?

  24. Doesn’t take long for you lot to crawl out from under your rocks, now that Brian, Braine, has weight in his lot I suppose his comrades in arms Tommy or Tommie and Jake will follow suit. What a joke you lot are.
I agree with you Myra. I too have worked with Maurice on several charity events. Maurice has always made it clear to volunteers who work with him, as he did to the volunteers who worked on Fire Aid, that money for tickets sales should be handled by outside sources, in the case of Fire Aid by case Iceland stores and banked by Iceland Mangers direct to Red Cross, as for the vast amount of money he raised for Cudeca, Cudeca Volunteers always handled funds directly i.e. the Telethon or the WOW Factor. So for you vindictive few (and I mean few) you should be ashamed of yourselves. If you want to check the books etc get in touch with Cudeca or The Red Cross or the many charities Maurice’s has supported.

  25. CJ, be aware that Myra is in Maurice Boland’s pocket. Which reminds me, where are the audited accounts from Fire Aid that were promised Myra?

Jamie, if you read the thread about Fire Aid (CJ posted the link above) you will note that accounts have not been forthcoming as they haven’t with other fundraising events involving Maurice Boland. I will not repeat all the points, but please read the thread.
