THE Guardia Civil has launched a campaign urging drivers to keep cyclists safe on the roads.
The โA life goes on a bikeโ campaign begs drivers to leave cyclists a berth of 1.5 metres when overtaking them.
โItโs not a cyclist, itโs a father or mother, brother or sister, son or daughter that youโre overtaking – so give them 1.5 metres as thereโs space for everyone,โ reads the statement.
The latest statistics confirm there were 6,890 cyclist accidents on Spainโs roads with 75 deaths, 54 of them on dual carriageways, in 2014.
