A FLASHMOB meant as a bit of fun in Costa Brava turned ugly last night when it was mistaken for a terrorist attack.

People screamed and ran from the scene on Platja d’Oro’s promenade in a crazed panic after some 200 German tourists began shouting and running after a pretend celebrity.

They were pretending to be paparazzi, but people mistook their cameras for weapons and began fleeing what they thought was an attack.

Some 11 people were treated for minor injuries , anxiety attacks and heart palpatations while two were hospitalised.

Five German women were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the stunt and were due to appear in court today.
