Cold front bringing snow, high winds and heavy rain to Spain

snow-in-spainTEMPERATURES have plummeted across Spain while a cold front has brought the first snowfall in the north.

Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, the Basque Country and the Pyrenees have all experienced snow in their mountainous areas.

AEMET has also warned that coastal areas will be battered by high winds and heavy rain.

Burgos, Palencia and Leon were all put on yellow alert for heavy snowfall.

Andalucia is expected to stay mostly dry but will experience high and cold winds.

Laurence Dollimore
