Almeria has youngest population in Spain

Almeria has the youngest average age in the country.

The average age of the province is just 39.6 years, compared to the national average age of 42.9 years across Spain.

The country has one of the oldest populations in Europe, with 23% of the population over 65.

The number of young people in Spain has also fallen by two million in the last decade, with just 15.1% of the population aged between 15 and 29.

This is compared to 19% in the UK.

Spaniards reaching 100 years of age has also increased fivefold since 1998, with 15,413 reaching a century.
