THE heatwave that has affected much of Spain is set to continue this week.
It comes as June continues to experience abnormally high temperatures.
Madrid broke its June record when Madrid-Barajas Airport read 40.3C on the thermometer on Saturday.
Meanwhile, temperatures in Cordoba and Sevilla reached 44C last week.
The country is on high alert for wild fires, as high temperatures, winds and forecast storms provide a potentially devastating combination.
